John Quincy Adams, the 6th President of the United States, was the only president to serve in the House of Representatives after his presidency. Following his single term as president from 1825 to 1829, Adams was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1830 and served there until his death in 1848. He remains the only former U.S. president to have held a seat in the House after leaving the presidency.
