Which Ancient Civilization Built The City Of Machu Picchu?
Did You Know!
An interesting fact about Portland, Oregon, is that it's known as the "City of Roses" due to its ideal climate for growing roses. This nickname was officially bestowed in 1888 when Georgiana Burton Pittock, wife of pioneer publisher Henry Pittock, invited local rose growers to display their roses in her garden. This event later evolved into the internationally famous Portland Rose Festival, which continues to celebrate Portland's floral heritage to this day.
