Police Officer Does This After Catching Shoplifters

A Massachusetts police officer made headlines after helping out two shoplifters pay for the meals that were stolen instead of taking them to prison. He stated that he felt like it was the right thing to do.

The women that were stopped had two children with them at the time and the officer decided that it would be best to pay for the meals with his own money and let them go rather than taking the women to jail and leaving the children abandoned. The store security stated that the women did not scan everything at the register while putting things in the shopping bags.

Once the officer saw the receipt and the items that were being stolen he realized that they were only buying food for themselves and the children for a dinner and decided to step in. The officer later stated that he has two daughters so it influenced his decision to let the mothers go and pay for their meals.
