Fact: In 2014, a centuries-old time capsule was discovered inside the copper lion statue atop Boston’s Old State House.

Why It’s Wild: It was hidden there in 1901 and contained newspapers, photographs, and letters from Bostonians at the turn of the century. The capsule was sealed and put back—with new items added—to be opened by future generations.
