Who Is Considered \'The Father Of Modern Computer Science\'?
Did You Know!
West Virginia is home to the largest “quiet zone” in the United States—where cell phones, Wi-Fi, and even microwave ovens are restricted by law.
The National Radio Quiet Zone covers over 13,000 square miles of West Virginia and neighboring Virginia to protect the Green Bank Observatory, one of the world’s most sensitive radio telescopes.
Why it’s rare:
Inside the zone, residents can be fined for using devices that emit radio interference. Some people with electromagnetic hypersensitivity even move there because it’s one of the few places in America with near-zero man-made radio noise.
