The Connecticut Yankee Nuclear Power Plant, located in the small town of Haddam, operated from 1968 to 1996 and was one of the earliest commercial nuclear plants in the U.S.

• The site was cleaned so thoroughly it was released for unrestricted public use
• Today, it looks like ordinary land—no visible sign a nuclear reactor ever stood there
