An interesting fact about the White House is that it has its own bowling alley. Originally built in 1947 during the Truman administration, the bowling alley was a gift from President Truman's friends to celebrate his birthday. It was relocated to the basement of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in 1955 and then moved back to the White House in 1969 during the Nixon administration, who were avid bowlers.
