🌳 Arkansas Has a “Ghost Forest” Hidden Beneath a Lake

Under the waters of Lake Ouachita, near Hot Springs, lies a submerged “ghost forest” — the remains of ancient cypress trees that are over 10,000 years old. When the lake was created in the 1950s, these massive stumps were left standing underwater. Many are still perfectly preserved, their wood protected from decay by the cold, oxygen-poor environment.
