In 1956, the small town of Opelika, Alabama, reported a strange weather event ā live catfish falling from the sky after a powerful thunderstorm.
Meteorologists believe a waterspout (a tornado over water) sucked the fish from a nearby pond and dropped them miles away. Locals found catfish flopping in their yards, on roofs, and even in the streets!
