Michigan Has the Only Floating Post Office in the World

The J.W. Westcott II, based in Detroit, is the world’s only floating post office with its own ZIP code: 48222. Since 1874, it has delivered mail by boat to ships passing through the Detroit River—sometimes while they’re still moving. Sailors simply shout “mail call!” and the post office delivers letters, packages, and even pizzas right on the water.
