Here's what happened.
The government has told agencies to prepare for a potential shutdown. This is due to Democrats and Republicans disagreeing on the government spending bill that was introduced in the Congress.
This has already effect the Stock Market with The S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average, and Nasdaq being somewhat flat heading into the weekend. The Government has until the 30th to release a government spending bill or else the shutdown will occur.
Congress has approved the government funding bill but it is still likely to be shut down in the Senate. Both parties have stated that they do not want a shutdown to occur but have very different opinions on raising the debt ceiling for government spending.
