Montana Has a Place Where Rainwater Can Flow Into Three Different Oceans!

Montana is home to a rare geographical feature called Triple Divide Peak, located in Glacier National Park.

Depending on which side of the mountain precipitation falls, water can eventually flow toward the Pacific Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico (connected to the Atlantic Ocean), or Hudson Bay (connected to the Arctic Ocean).

Surprising fact: Very few places in North America sit at the meeting point of three major continental drainage systems, making Montana’s Triple Divide Peak an extraordinary natural landmark.

According to the National Park Service, Triple Divide Peak stands approximately 8,020 feet tall and is one of only a handful of such geographical features worldwide.
