In a fiery video clip, California Governor Gavin Newsom suggests that President Trump should consider sending the National Guard into Mississippi and Louisiana, pointing to what he calls an “unconscionable wave of violence” in those states. Newsom took a swipe at Mississippi’s governor, saying the phone call for help may be overdue, and argued that if the president is serious about tackling crime, deploying troops in the South would be the next logical step.
