Welcome to Casa Orgánica, the home of architect Javier Senosiain in Naucalpan de Juárez. Senosiain is one of Mexico’s foremost voices in organic architecture, a practice rooted in the belief that built space and the natural world should be inseparable. Completed in 1984 as his own family residence, Casa Orgánica was conceived from the shape of a peanut shell. It consists of two flowing oval spaces, one for living and one for resting, connected by a curved passageway built in ferro-cement. There are no straight lines and no hard edges, only surfaces that shift seamlessly from wall to floor to ceiling. A living green roof makes the house nearly invisible from above.
